• October.Dana alert that brings heavy rains to the eastern peninsula and the Balearic Islands
  • Prediction Check the weather in your area

The umbrella will be necessary this Friday throughout the peninsula and the Balearic Islands due to the effects of a deep Atlantic storm, which will bring a new storm just when there is a month until winter comes and that has forced the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) to activate warnings in 39 provinces and Ceuta, especially for rain, wind or bad sea, but also for thaw or snow.

The storm carries a very active associated frontal system that will leave widespread rains and showers, locally persistent and occasionally strong and with storms. Precipitation will be more copious in Galicia, southern Andalusia and the southern face of the main mountain systems, and weaker in the eastern Cantabrian and the Levantine area, as well as in the Canary Islands.

Another adverse and widespread phenomenon will be the wind, with strong or very strong gusts of 70 to 110 km / h, initially of south component that will turn to west component in practically all the peninsula and the Balearic Islands. Therefore, most of the coastal areas will have a bad sea.

The day will be mostly cloudy and, in addition, it will snow in mountainous areas, with the elevation going down between 1,100 and 1,300 meters in the north, and located between 1,400 and 1,800 meters in the center, Pyrenees and, at the end of the day, the mountain ranges of the south.

Orange notice

The prediction of the Aemet, collected by Servimedia, indicates that there is orange warning (significant risk, the second on a three-level scale) in Ceuta and the entire Andalusian coast washed by the Alboran Sea . In these places west winds of force eight and waves of up to four meters are expected. The same happens on the coasts of A Coruña, Lugo and Asturias , where there will be waves of five to six meters.

The orange warning is also active in Cádiz , specifically in the Strait area, for quite persistent rains that will leave at least 100 liters per square meter in 12 hours and very strong wind gusts of at least 100 km / h. And in three northern provinces by wind gusts of 90 to 110 km / h: Asturias (Iberian Mountain Range and Picos de Europa), Cantabria (Liébana, center and valley of Villaverde) and Navarra (Cantabrian slope).

Yellow notice

The rest of the notices are yellow (risk, the lowest on the scale). The most widespread adverse phenomenon will be the wind through strong gusts of 70 to 80 km / h in 35 provinces and Ceuta .

Several pedestrians walk with difficulty due to the strong wind registered in La Coruña.

It affects areas of the southern peninsular half such as Almería, Granada, Málaga and Ciudad Real, as well as areas of Cádiz (the whole province except the Strait), Córdoba (Campiña and Subbética), Huelva (except the north), Jaén (Cazorla, Segura, capital and mountains), Seville (south), Murcia (Field of Cartagena and Mazarrón), Alicante (north coast), Albacete (Alcaraz and Segura), Toledo (mountains), Badajoz (La Siberia) and Cáceres (north, Tagus and Alagón).

There is also yellow warning due to strong wind gusts in areas of the northern half, such as A Coruña, Pontevedra, Vizcaya, Guipúzcoa, Salamanca and Zamora, as well as areas of Ávila and Segovia (Central System), Burgos and La Rioja (Iberian System) , Soria (Iberian System and Central System), Huesca and Navarra (Pyrenees), Lleida (Pyrenees and Aran Valley), Cantabria (Ebro area), Asturias (west coast), Álava (Nervión and Llanada basin), Lugo ( except the south) and Ourense (northwest and mountain). The same goes for Ceuta and the entire Balearic Islands except Menorca.

As for the rain, it will be present throughout the peninsula, the Balearic Islands and Ceuta, but it deserves the consideration of a yellow warning in 19 provinces and Ceuta. Those provinces are Córdoba, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga, Ourense, Pontevedra and Sevilla in full, as well as Girona, Huesca and Lleida (Pyrenees); Cádiz (except the Strait), Almería (Alborán coast), Granada (coast), Cáceres (north half), A Coruña (southwest), Barcelona (pre-Pyrenees), Zamora (Sanabria) and Ávila and Salamanca (Central and South System) .

In addition to the coast of Alborán and A Coruña, Lugo and Asturias, which have the orange warning for bad sea , most of the peninsular and Balearic coast has yellow warning for coastal phenomena. They only get rid of the bad sea Guipúzcoa, Vizcaya, Valencia, Castellón, Tarragona and Barcelona.

Snowfall warnings are only in the Pyrenees of Lleida and Oscense, where they could accumulate about 10 centimeters thick of snow on the surface, and those of thaw refer to the high areas of Ávila, Burgos, León, Palencia, Salamanca, Segovia and Zamora.

Rising Temperatures

On the other hand, temperatures will rise throughout the peninsula except the northeastern third and areas of the Cantabrian and the South Plateau. Only less than 10 degrees are expected in the northern mountains and nearby areas.

The warmest capitals or autonomous cities will be Santa Cruz de Tenerife (25ºC), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (24), Melilla (23) and Huelva and Murcia (20), while it will be colder in León, Soria and Vitoria ( 9), and Burgos, Huesca, Logroño, Palencia and Pamplona (10).
