The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment plans to launch a new smart application in the first quarter of next year in order to facilitate farmers' access to agricultural extension services, according to Assistant Undersecretary for the Regions Sector, Sultan Alwan. And the sustainability of this sector, because of its economic, social and environmental importance.

Alwan explained to the UAE Today that the ministry has put the focus of agricultural extension as one of its priorities, focusing on several points, including identifying needs, technical problems facing farmers, and developing appropriate solutions.

Alwan pointed out that the ministry recently launched «My Farm sustainable portal», which will be implemented through three stages, the first was launched within the ministry's website, where customers can enter the portal and get multiple information, and the second phase will be launched during the first quarter of next year, on agriculture Crop care, agricultural pest control, marketing and other extension topics will be launched during the second quarter, the third phase, which will provide agricultural and veterinary services.

He pointed out that specialized extension programs are being implemented to control palm pests.
