According to TASS, the president’s meeting with the families of the victims took place on Thursday, November 21, in the Kremlin.
“First of all, it is my duty, but nevertheless - and an honorable mission: to express to you deep, sincere condolences,” Putin said.
He noted that losing the closest person is painful and difficult.
“It is important that you not only receive an award for your loved ones, but hear the words of sincere sympathy and condolences on behalf of the Russian state, and an assessment of what your loved ones have done and have done,” Putin emphasized.
According to the head of state, the victims had a special mission - to protect Russia, and they honorably fulfilled their duty.
“They led a very difficult, responsible and critical direction, we are talking about the most advanced and unmatched technical ideas and solutions, weapons that are designed to ensure sovereignty, security for Russia for decades to come, peace for our children, for your children, who grow up with you, are rightly proud of their fathers, ”he added.
On August 8, five Rosatom employees died as a result of an emergency at the training ground. According to the company, tests of a rocket that exploded at a training ground took place in the White Sea.
As Putin noted, the tragedy killed specialists who performed an extremely important task to ensure Russia's security.
