This was announced by the head of the committee Leonid Slutsky.

“State Duma deputies and members of the Federation Council, Kirill Vyshinsky, Maria Butina, Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatyana Moskalkova, head of Rossotrudnichestvo Eleonora Mitrofanova, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Justice Ministry, the Human Rights Chamber, the Public Chamber of Russia are invited to participate in the discussion,” his TASS.

Slutsky noted that the problem of protecting Russians who find themselves in a difficult situation away from the country is “on the agenda” due to the regular manifestation of judicial bias, far-fetched and fabricated charges against them abroad.

According to him, in 2018 “over 600 cases” of unjustified arrests, deportations, failure to provide timely medical assistance, extradition of Russians in Western countries “against the background of general Russophobic hysteria” were recorded.

“The USA stands apart here, which, using the so-called extraterritorial justice, have launched a real hunt for Russians around the world,” Slutsky emphasized.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatyana Moskalkova offered Butina a job in the office of the Ombudsman, namely, participation in a group to protect the rights of compatriots abroad.

As she noted, it was decided to expand the work of the group on protecting the rights of Russians in Ukraine and to develop a “very interesting mechanism” for interaction with the UN and the Council of Europe.
