According to TASS, the decision was taken by consensus without a voting procedure.

The UN General Assembly, as indicated in the resolution, expects that the United States will "promptly issue entry visas to all representatives of member states and do it in a timely manner."

The authors of the document were Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Costa Rica and Côte d'Ivoire. It is expected that in December it will be considered by the entire General Assembly.

Earlier, the first committee of the UN General Assembly did not support the proposal of Russia on the possible transfer of his work from the United States in connection with the issuance of visas to diplomats.

As noted in the Permanent Mission of Russia to the UN, the Secretary General of the organization, Antoniu Guterres, shares Moscow’s position on the refusal of the United States to issue visas to Russian diplomats.

The United States did not issue visas to 18 Russian diplomats to participate in the work of the UN General Assembly.
