British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Labor opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn clashed Tuesday night in a televised debate. It was the first time that the leaders of the two main British parties were alone in face-to-face, hoping to snatch some extra points for the elections of 12 December, dominated by Brexit.

No huge missteps or fatal blow carried by one or the other during this very first duel. Three themes dominated: the Brexit, the honesty of the candidates and the NHS. Boris Johnson has relentlessly returned to his exit agreement, urging Jeremy Corbyn to clarify his position on the subject.

"We'll be clear on January 31, because our agreement is ready to put in the oven and it's a clear difference to the hesitations and delays with Jeremy Corbyn who can not even say if he would campaign to stay or go out when his second referendum ... ", Boris Johnson launched.

In return Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn accused his opponent of false promises: " When you say that you will settle the Brexit, in reality you will embark in 7 years at the least of negotiations with the US; you have already indicated that you will conclude an agreement on the Canadian model that took 7 years with Brussels, so the Brexit will not be settled in a few months and you know it perfectly ... "

The question of the sincerity of the two leaders came back several times and gave rise to rude mockery among the audience. Boris Johnson hoped to widen the gap already with Jeremy Corbyn who in return wanted to make a decisive breakthrough. But none really convinced, the electorate seeming resigned to vote more by default than by real enthusiasm.
