Two women (Moroccan and Greek), who were stranded while cleaning the facade of a residential tower on Ajman Corniche, were rescued by heavy winds yesterday.
Lt. Col. Raed Obaid Al Zaabi, Director of the Centers Department at Ajman Civil Defense, said that a report was received at 9:00 am stating that two people were stuck inside an electric platform used to clean the glass facades in a tower on the Corniche, and the strong winds made the platform swing.
Al-Zaabi added that «two women rescued the workers, through the window of the apartment on the ninth floor, where they managed to hold the wire of the podium until the arrival of civil defense teams to the site of the report, and resulted in the injury of the two women with minor injuries, were dealt with at the scene through the national ambulance, Rescue teams dealt professionally, installing the platform and removing the workers without injury. ”
He praised the heroic position of the two women, where they were able to pull the wire of the hanging platform, through the window of the apartment in the residential tower, in order to protect workers from falling until the arrival of civil defense teams.
