Iraq is shaken by protests against corruption and unemployment. More than 330 people have been killed in the protests - and many protesters are killed as security forces fire military tear gas grenades directly at them. Amnesty has been alarmed that there is a bloodbath in the country, but official Iraqi media does not report the violence. "No normal person can see such scenes," says Haider Salim Eskandar.
The UN and Human Rights Watch have documented several cases of protesters whose corpses were inflicted by tear gas grenades that were shot at protesters' heads and chest.
According to the UN, security forces use two new tear gas grenades manufactured in Iran and Serbia. They are ten times heavier than regular tear gas tanks and enter the body of the protesters, where they explode.
