The Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Elections of the Council, Counselor Dr. Mansour Mohammed bin Nassar, said that the first day witnessed a significant influx of citizens to the polling stations, in various headquarters of the electoral centers, adding that they rushed to perform their electoral duty despite the current weather conditions.

Bin Nassar stressed the need to take the necessary measures to take into account the circumstances of the people of concern and the elderly.

For his part, Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the management of elections, Ahmed Jarwan, said that the first 15 minutes witnessed a large turnout of voters on the first day of voting, noting that the Committee was keen to apply the highest standards of integrity and transparency in the electoral process, through the provision of trained and qualified cadres of both sexes , And provide all the necessary needs to help voters, to be able to vote and electronic voting in a comfortable and confidential. Al Jarwan affirmed the provision of more than 60 polling stations in the nine polling stations, pointing to the positive role of the police in regulating traffic and maintaining security inside and outside the center.

He pointed out that the Commission provided a full center and qualified cadres, to train voters on the process of electronic voting before casting their votes, pointing out that the turnout was large, and continue until the closure of the ballot.

He said most voters had finished voting in less than three minutes.

The UAE today observed the first moments of voting, which witnessed a high turnout of both sexes at the Sharjah Chess Center, despite heavy rains. Patients were also present in wheelchairs, to vote.

A number of senior citizens said that they voted for the candidate who will represent them, and serve the emirate and its citizens, pointing out that many candidates have multiple experience, and hold high degrees.
