On October 21, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned to President Ruven Rivlin the mandate to form a government, as he could not form it.

After that, Rivlin gave Beni Ganz, the leader of the Kakhol-Lavan centrist bloc, a mandate to form a cabinet.
