According to Mamonov, over the past year in the course of work in this direction, agreements have been reached on most of the activities of the draft road map for the implementation of the resolution of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of June 30, 2017 "On the abolition of roaming in the Union State."

The parties agreed with the main approaches, stages and sequence of the necessary activities. The relevant departments, antitrust authorities and telecom operators of the two countries regularly hold working meetings and video-conference calls to develop compromise approaches.

“Given the ongoing discussions on the convergence of approaches to regulating the communications market both within the Union State and within the Eurasian Economic Union as a whole, we expect to complete the approval of the“ road map ”in the near future. Despite the fact that the deadlines have been repeatedly postponed, we believe that the abolition of roaming is quite possible in 2020, ”said the deputy head of the Ministry of Communications.

Earlier, the deputy head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) Anatoly Golomolzin spoke about the process of canceling roaming when traveling between Russia and Belarus.
