Wash your hands

It is important to wash your hands properly when you are abroad, visiting health care, meeting sick people, and meeting someone who is eating or has recently eaten antibiotics. Soaps and detergents added with antibacterial agents should be avoided.

Stay healthy

When cooking, it is important to do it properly, for example, do not use the same cutting board for vegetables and raw meat. Make sure you vaccinate and do not spread disease, stay home when you or your child is sick. Good diet and exercise are good for keeping the immune system on top. And if the stomach feels good, we have stronger protection against mass infections, especially those in the gastrointestinal tract.

Use antibiotics properly

It is important to listen to your doctor. Swedish doctors are trained not to prescribe antibiotics unnecessarily. But it can still be good to tell your doctor that you are happy to see that they are restrictive. Abroad, doctors are not as restrictive. One tip is to consult a Swedish doctor via the internet.

Eat meat from Nordic countries

Norway, Sweden, Iceland and Finland use the least antibiotics in animals in Europe. The worst are Spain, Italy, Hungary, Portugal and Poland.
