Last week, Linköping University, Liu, went out and recommended its students to leave the area. Of a total of 38 students, 18 of them have now left the area after the weekend's escalation of the situation.

- It is very unusual for us to recommend students to leave. Normally we only do this if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs discourages Swedes from traveling to the country. But here we have taken an extra step because the unrest is so clearly focused on the universities, says Maria Engelmark, director of international relations at Linköping University.

According to her, this is the first time the university has had to act this way.

- We have never had to do this on this scale. Then Linköping University is the university that has the most students there. It will be a more extensive campaign then and requires greater resources, ”says Maria Engelmark.
