“The Ministry of Health plans to develop a new draft law of Ukraine“ On Mental Health ”, which should completely break the inherited Soviet organizational structure, strategies and practices of the mental health system,” Skaletskaya wrote on her Facebook page.

As one of the priorities, the Minister noted the increase of awareness regarding mental health in society, the development and implementation of programs to overcome the stigma, the active involvement of people with mental and intellectual disabilities, as well as their families in the dialogue in building a new system.

Skarletskaya also made it clear that Ukraine will use the help of Lithuania, which, according to her, is ready to share her experience in this field with Ukrainian experts.

“At a meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine on cooperation in the field of mental health, we agreed to support Ukraine in building a socialization system for people with mental disorders,” she said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine announced plans to reform the labor market, naming antitrust policy, export, investment and the agricultural sector among the four-year work priorities.
