Neamat Albayati and her family are still waiting for asylum themselves, but now live in their own apartment. But she still goes to Spenshult several times a week to organize activities and support people who live there,

- It is very difficult to just wait. When we asylum seekers come to Sweden, we all have big dreams. But after a year or two of waiting, you become mentally ill, in the soul, says Neamat Albayati.

Organizes activities

She organizes the activities through her association "Together in Sweden" and other organizations such as the Red Cross and the Swedish Church. She also organizes activities for asylum seekers elsewhere in Halland and says that long asylum processes cause many to lose hope and therefore need help to activate themselves.

"You can't plan your life, what to do tomorrow or next year, the only thing you do is wait for a residence permit," she says.
