It was at 16.30 that an air traffic controller alerted about a crash on Sturup.

- I just know that a smaller aircraft has crashed. Two people should be involved, says Carl-Johan Tylegård Flight rescue manager at JRCC.

According to the SOS alarm, three ambulances and three cars from the rescue service are on their way to the scene.

- It is a smaller plane that has gone down the hill, says Henrik Östling Team leader at SOS Alarm.

The police are on hand to assist the rescue service.

"The two people found on the plane are both physically injured," says Rickard Lundqvist, press spokesman for the police in the South region.

"Seeing how the plane glides on the runway with sparks"

Anders Lännholm is the rescue leader at the Maritime and Air Rescue Center.

- The flight tower lost contact with the aircraft and we sent out the helicopter. Shortly thereafter, they see how the aircraft comes in for landing without contact with the airplane tower and they see how the plane glides on the runway with sparks, he says.

Anders Lännholm says that the entire airport is closed off and that it has sent out all the resources it has for a possible rescue operation.

According to police, the two found on board were unharmed.
