On October 9, a xenophobic attack took place in the German city of Halle, in which a person linked with far-right movements fired his rifle in the immediate vicinity of a synagogue and a Turkish food restaurant.

Something more than a month later, the owner of the restaurant, closed by the damage, has celebrated his reopening and wanted to express his gratitude to two brothers who worked that day in the place with an unusual gesture of altruism.

Izzet Cagac , the owner, has handed Ismet and Rifat Tekin a letter in which they transfer ownership of the Kiez-Döner, wishing them "much strength to overcome the terrible attack and receive many clients of different ethnicities and religions."

One of the deceased, 20 years old, was a local customer that October 9. Bullets also hit a passerby by death. The attacker directed his peephole towards the restaurant when he found the synagogue doors closed before being intercepted by the police.

The detainee is a heavily armed 27-year-old German who during his interrogation confirmed his anti-Semitic and far-right motivations .
