The captain of Serbia's Davis Cup team was reassuring Sunday about the health of Novak Djokovic, who complained of right elbow pain after his defeat against Roger Federer at the London Masters.

"He will arrive in a few hours and train this afternoon (Sunday, ed.) Until then, everything is fine.We will see," said Nenad Zimonjic early afternoon in Madrid.

"I think he'll have enough time to get ready for our first game on Wednesday" against Japan, he added, repeating, regarding the elbow of the world N.2, that "everything is OK for the moment".

"He will do his first training (Sunday afternoon in Madrid) since this match (Thursday against Federer), so we will know more, but until then, everything is OK," concluded the Serbian captain.

Serbia is scheduled to train at 5:30 pm at Caja Magica, where the Davis Cup will start on Monday for the first year in a world championship format with 18 national teams in a week in the same city.

Djokovic, who gave up his world No.1 spot to Rafael Nadal, was eliminated in the group stage of the London Masters after two defeats against Dominic Thiem and Roger Federer. At the end of this last match, he explained to have felt a pain "quite lively" in the elbow.

At the new Davis Cup (18-24 November), Serbia is in Group A with France and Japan.
