- It looks very good. Normally, we have not even started spraying snow this time, now we have probably sprayed a third of what we planned and are well ahead of the plan, says Gunnar Harr, chief operating officer of Tjamstabackarna.

The coast

In Skellefteå, the municipality has had the artificial snow track open since the autumn holidays, as well as the children's hill in Vitberget and they have also got a good bit on the slalom hill. In Umeå, the artificial snow track opens tomorrow, which is somewhat later than usual. The reason is that the municipality bought a new system for artificial snow.

- We have worked hard for the past two weeks together with the municipality and the contractor and it feels great that we can start tomorrow. It feels great to be up and running and I hope there will be a lot of people and that the sun is looking forward, says Patric Junes, plant manager at IFK Umeå, who runs the operation of Nydala art snow tracks.

In Borgafjäll right now, trails for cross country skiing and scooters are drawn, but the downhill skiing is a bit away. In Tärnaby, Ingemarbacken is already up and Anjabacken will be ready soon. In Hemavan, the premiere is scheduled for November 29. And although much of the ski tourism has its peak on the other side of the New Year, it is important for the winter resorts to get the season started early.

- It's very important. We want visitors to come more than once a year and every season has its charm. It is extremely important for the companies in the area that we can for the long season, says Sofi Marberg, Head of Operations at Visit Hemavan Tärnaby.
