Yemen's Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ahmed al-Maissari criticized Saudi forces' practices in the eastern province of al-Mahra, warning of a repeat of the Aden coup scenario.

The coup in the southern city of Aden came out of the lap of the Saudi-UAE alliance led by Abu Dhabi, he said.

In a speech during a meeting in the city of Aydah with clerical leaders and clerics, al-Maisari described Saudi practices in the province as negative and called for correcting them.

The Yemeni minister warned that the presence of the coalition forces in Al-Mahra "is a source of peaceful and stable province problems" and that the experience of the Aden coup should be repeated in Al-Mahra, which borders Oman.

Saudi discomfort
The Yemeni Interior Minister said that Saudi Arabia is disturbed by his visit with the Yemeni Transport Minister Saleh al-Jibwani to the province of al-Mahra, adding, "Is it conceivable that your neighbor comes and says what to do in your house ?!

Since late 2017, there have been signs of rejection of the UAE-Saudi presence, which has been reinforced over time by the control of vital facilities such as the airport, port and border ports, as well as the formation of forces loyal to Riyadh and Abu Dhabi outside the official framework, and popular rejection was manifested in sit-ins and demonstrations.

Opposition has intensified as Saudi influence expands through the construction of military facilities, and its quest to build an oil pipeline extending from its territory in the border region of Al Kharkhir to the Arabian Sea through the skilled.

The UAE problem
On the relationship with the UAE, the Yemeni minister said that the problem with Abu Dhabi began when the Yemeni government remained silent about its actions and formed what he called armed militias outside the framework of the military and security institutions, referring to the security belt forces in the south of Yemen.

Al-Maissari said the problem with the UAE ended with the bloody events in Aden last August following the takeover of state institutions by forces loyal to the Abu Dhabi-backed Southern Transitional Council.

The same spokesman explained that the coup in Aden came out of the lap of the coalition, and led by the Emirati planning, funding and supervision, and "forgot that they are in a country called Yemen."

Al-Maissari's comments came after the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council signed an agreement last month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Aden to activate state institutions.
