Four LFI deputies have seized the prosecutor of the Republic of Paris after Alain Finkielkraut remarks about rape on LCI, they said Friday in a statement.

These remarks had been qualified during the broadcast of "second degree" by its host David Pujadas.

"Mathilde Panot, Val-de-Marne MP, Danièle Obono, MP for Paris, Ugo Bernalicis, MP for the North and Bénédicte Taurine, MP for the Ariege of the insubordinate France group have today seized the prosecutor of the Republic of Paris on the basis of Article 40 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, for the remarks made by Alain Finkielkraut on November 13, 2019 during the show The great confrontation on LCI, "said the statement.

"Violation, rape, rape, that's it, I say to men: rape women, besides I rape mine every night ... but every night ... She's fed up, huh, she's fed up," M had said. Finkielkraut during this broadcast, during which he had previously blasted "the politically correct", described as "Calvary of thought".

The four rebels "consider that these remarks may constitute an offense under Article 24 of the Act of 29 July 1881: provocation + hatred or violence against a person or group of people on the basis of sex, sexual orientation or gender identity + ".

During the show, Mr. Finkielkraut, confronted in particular by the feminist Caroline De Haas, had criticized the notion of "culture of rape" and deplored an "extension of the concept of sexism", suggesting "that there would be France a lot of rapists in power ".

The 4-second sequence, shared on the networks by the feminist organization "Nous Tous", was widely seen and attracted many comments.

While some blame the truncated character of the excerpt or call to "see the irony in the sentence" of the essayist, others are indignant remarks made by the member of the French Academy.
