Pauline Parmentier, 122nd in the world and member of the France team who won the Fed Cup in Australia, and Hugo Gaston (257th), will benefit from invitations reserved for France to enter the main draw of the Australian Open ( January 20-February 2), announced Friday the French Tennis Federation (FFT).

For her part, Diane Parry (N.1 juniors and 337th at the WTA) was awarded the French wild card for qualifying, said the FFT.

At 33, Parmentier will play the Australian Open, first round of the Grand Slam of the year, for the 11th time. She has never passed the second round. "This invitation comes as a reward for his unwavering commitment to the team of France," says the FFT.

Gaston will play for the first time, at age 19, the main draw in Melbourne. In 2019, he won four tournaments on the ITF (or Futures) circuit and played four other finals in this 3rd division of professional tennis.

As for Parry, considered at 17 as the "incarnation of the new FFT junior plan", she is thus rewarded for her "exceptional season". Among the juniors, she won the Masters in Chengdu and played the semifinals of Wimbledon. She also spent a lap in the main draw at Roland Garros.
