"I used to welcome them (passengers. - RT ) on board and say:" Crew commander Damir Yusupov. " But after an emergency, people react very emotionally to my name. This causes a stir in the cabin. There should be no excitement among passengers, ”RIA Novosti quoted Yusupov as saying.

He noted that when a month after the emergency landing he decided to introduce himself to the passengers, this caused them a “special thrill” on board at the moment the aircraft entered the turbulence zone.

“After that, I again stopped saying my name to passengers sitting in the cabin,” the pilot said.

In September, Yusupov was reported to return to flying after undergoing the necessary medical examinations.

On August 15, the Airbus A321 of Ural Airlines, which was controlled by commander Yusupov and co-pilot Murzin, made an emergency landing a few kilometers from Zhukovsky Airport in the Moscow Region.

Pilots planted the liner on a cornfield without landing gear. As stated by the crew commander, this was done for security reasons.
