It is noted that during the negotiations, "energy security in Europe, including the situation with the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project, was discussed.

According to the press service, the parties "agreed on the importance of unconditional compliance by all EU member states with EU energy legislation."

Tusk also "welcomed the significant intensification of reforms in Ukraine, in particular in the context of the implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union."

Earlier, the Bundestag passed a bill regulating the application of amendments to the EU Gas Directive for Germany, which covers the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project.

An expert at the National Energy Security Fund, a lecturer at the Financial University under the Government of Russia, Stanislav Mitrakhovich commented on the adoption by the Bundestag of this bill.
