The UAE and Egypt .. Historical relations and a common destiny

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said that relations between the UAE and Egypt are historic and strategic, based on trust, understanding and common destiny.

His Highness held an official talks session with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the Al-Watan Palace on UAE-Egyptian relations and ways of supporting and developing them.

The talks also dealt with the latest developments and developments on the regional and international arenas, exchanging views on them, as well as issues and issues of common concern.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed to Al Sisi the greetings of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and his wishes to the brotherly Egyptian people for continued progress and stability.

His Highness said that the relations between the UAE and Egypt are historical and strategic, based on trust, understanding and common destiny, pointing out that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God bless him, has been a great love and special appreciation for Egypt, which was considered the heart of the Arab world and a fundamental pillar of its security . His Highness added that the past years have proved the strength of UAE-Egyptian relations, their speciality and their rich heritage, solid bases and strong political will. The two countries stood together with sincerity and strength against the threats to the security of the region and the interests of its people and the future of their countries.

He also noted the significant and qualitative development witnessed in the UAE and Egypt relations during the past period in the political, economic, security, military and other fields, the remarkable growth in the rate of trade exchange between the two countries, and the significant increase in the volume of UAE investments in the various Egyptian economic sectors. To further develop and support these relations, in the coming period, in the interest of the two brotherly peoples.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for his keenness and personal interest in promoting UAE-Egyptian relations, stressing that the UAE has a strategic direction to find the best relations with Egypt in all fields.

His Highness stressed that the UAE-Egypt relations have always been distinguished in all stages, not only at the official level but also at the popular level, because the two peoples, Emirati and Egyptian, are linked by strong results of love, mutual respect and brotherhood, which support our relations in other fields.

The UAE and Egypt are partners in supporting peace and stability in the Arab region, working for the interests of their people, preserving the national state entity in the face of threats to it, and they are in one front against extremism, terrorism and threatening attempts. The security and peace of the societies of the region by extremist forces serving suspicious agendas of parties that do not want the good of our country and peoples.

His Highness said that "Egypt is a major Arab state and a main pillar of Arab security. We regard Egypt's security as the security of the UAE, and its progress, development and stability represent an interest for the UAE and all Arabs."

His Highness added that the magnitude of the challenges and dangers that surround the Arab region calls for enhancing continuous consultation between our two countries and supporting the pillars of joint Arab action, in order to preserve the higher Arab interests at a detailed stage in the history of the region.

His Highness stressed that the support of the brothers is one of the main constants in the UAE policy since the reign of Sheikh Zayed, may God have mercy on him, and that the UAE has been and is still on the side of just Arab issues and with all the interests of the Arab peoples in the present and future. His Highness expressed his confidence that President El Sisi's visit to the country will boost the UAE-Egypt relations at all levels.

For his part, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stressed the special relations between the UAE and Egypt and their brotherly peoples, and congratulated His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the occasion of his re-election as President of the UAE, wishing him success in the leadership of the State for further development and progress.

The Egyptian President said that the UAE, in the footsteps of Sheikh Zayed, stood with Egypt in the most difficult situations, as the Egyptian people will never forget the UAE's stand during the events of 2013. He pointed out that this pause strengthened Egypt's steadfastness during this difficult period. And gratitude to the brothers in the UAE ».

He added: "Our destiny is shared, we have the ability to face any challenge, and we are able to protect and preserve our national security and respond to any aggression. We are capable of doing so either in the face of terrorist or security challenges in the Gulf, in Egypt or in our Arab region."

El Sisi reiterated the strength and strength of the fraternal relations between Egypt and the UAE, which are based on established principles that will not change.
