Earlier, the governor of the Italian region, Veneto Luca Zaya, said that Venice was faced with a "total and apocalyptic flood." According to available data, as a result of heavy rains, the water level in the city rose to 183 cm, while the mark of 130 cm is considered critical. Currently, the city is flooded by more than 80%.

The EU has already expressed its willingness to help Italy in connection with the flood in Venice.
