Tusk does not intend to convince Poland to change attitudes towards Russia

2019-11-13T23:25:10.957Z

The head of the European Council, Donald Tusk, said he did not intend to persuade Poland to change its attitude towards Russia, as French leader Emmanuel Macron did.

“And that’s why, when I hear Macron’s words that“ we must reconsider our position on Russia, rethink strategic relations, ”I can only express hope that this will not happen at the cost of our common dreams of European sovereignty,” TASS quotes him the words.

According to Tusk, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who shares Macron’s views, can help Poland “reorient” towards Russia.

“Mr. Orban will help persuade the Poles to change their position in Russia. Maybe, but not me, Emmanuel, ”concluded the head of the European Council.

November 8, Macron in an interview with The Economist magazine spoke about three possible scenarios for the development of Russia.
