There are three stages separating upper secondary school students from higher education training. From now on, they can learn about the proposed courses, before filing their wishes online between January and March. The first answers will come from mid-May.

Soon the beginning of long hours to ask what to do next year ... The inscriptions for Parcoursup will begin January 22, but already, parents as students can go to the site terminales2019-2020.fr and see all the formations that were last year. More than 14,000 are listed: a catalog large enough to get a first idea.

600 new formations

New this year: 600 additional courses including Sciences Po. "This integration will help fight the self-censorship, conscious or not, of some high school students and invite them to push the doors of the institution," says the site of the Institute of Parisian political studies. All training will soon be online on the parcoursup.fr site which will open on December 20th.

As soon as registration is possible, in January, you will need to complete the online application with CV and cover letter. Each student will be able to apply for ten different courses until March 12, 2020.

The different universities and schools will then study the files, before giving an answer between May 19 and July 17, 2020. Set up in 2018 after the failure of APB (admission post-bac), Parcoursup was not free from criticism. Last July, 58,000 candidates were waiting for places on the last day of the admission phase. In the event that in 2020, a student has no training offered, a complementary phase will take place between June and September and will make it possible to formulate up to 10 new wishes in the courses that have available places.
