28 September 2016The financiers of the Compagnia di Partinico (Palermo) arrested three teachers of an elementary school in the town for ill-treatment of their students, "aggravated by having committed the fact with abuse of powers and violation of duties inherent to a public function and to have performed them in relation to minors and within an educational institution ". It was some of the parents of the minors who allowed the investigations to begin, reporting "attitudes of their children that suggested behaviors that were not entirely correct during classroom activities".

"In fact, the environmental interceptions and video recordings arranged by the Judicial Authority have allowed us to confirm that the three teachers have used physical and psychological violence against small students - the yellow flames say - During the school day the teachers habitually adopted a language imbued with verbal threats and insults, using physical violence (slaps, pinching, tugging, kicking) against some children. In this context, the abuses of a support teacher against a disabled child stand out ".

In consideration of how the students were subjected to "intolerable physical and moral suffering", the Judge for the Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Palermo, at the request of the Public Prosecutor, ordered the house arrest for the three teachers.
