Burkina Faso was held in check at home by Uganda. Both teams had a draw (0-0). Also in Group B, Malawi, now leading the group, beat South Sudan.

Burkina Faso, absent in the finals of CAN 2019 in Egypt, launched their 2021 playoff campaign against Uganda. The Stallions, now coached by the local Kamou Malo, have almost open score open the score by touching the pole (5th).
