Former President Nicolas Sarkozy, author of the book "Passions", won Tuesday the 2019 edition of the political literature Edgar Faure, announced the association Edgar Faure.

In his book, published in June by Editions de l'Observatoire, the former head of state (2007-2012) delivers his political and personal memories until his accession to the Elysee Palace and settles some accounts, especially with François Fillon who was his Prime Minister.

Mr. Sarkozy talks at length about his political career, which began with a meeting of the RPR in Nice in 1975, followed by a meeting in Matignon with the then Prime Minister, Jacques Chirac, omnipresent over 360 pages.

The prize was created in 2007 on behalf of Edgar Faure, a political figure who led two governments of the Fourth Republic, in 1952 and again in 1955 and 1956. He is presided over by Edgar Faure's grandson, Rodolphe Oppenheimer- Faure.
