Njurunda parish, south of Sundsvall, now reports to the police about the various leasing agreements that have been signed.

Whoever signed the agreements does not want to comment on the newly appointed church pastor Bruce Bringerud, but he says that the agreements are "unreasonable" and that they should have been handled by the church council, which should not have happened.

According to Bruce Bringerud, the multimillion-dollar amount is beyond doubt, but today he does not want to say anything about the total costs of these contracts that are now being investigated by the police.

Miljonunderskott

During Monday's church council, it was decided to budget for a deficit of 1.6 million next year. In 2018, the congregation plus 1.9 million went - a difference of approximately SEK 3.5 million. It can be seen as a hint of the magnitude of the scope.

The congregation has taken the help of a lawyer and accountant to try to find out about the strange agreements, and the recommendation given is to now report the matter to the police.

Specifications missing

It was this spring that Bringerud, when the newly-appointed church pastor in Njurunda, made suspicions that everything was not right. In connection with the financial statements, he encountered costs for rental and leasing contracts that lacked specifications.

- When I was to certify the invoices, I became curious and tried to research further, he tells SVT. Bringerud did not find any offers either.

The agreements are said to be perennial, but what the congregation has actually rented or leased Bruce Bringerud does not currently say.
