  • The last macrobarometer. More than 7 million voters who still doubt who to vote will decide the outcome of the elections

The president of the Center for Sociological Research (CIS), José Félix Tezanos, has assured that he will not resign and blames the differences that have existed between his last macro-survey and the election results of this Sunday to the decline in participation and the "variables "occurred in recent weeks, in reference to the exhumation of Franco and the riots in Catalonia.

In an informative breakfast of New Economy Forum, Tezanos recalled that the CIS "is not a house of riddles" and that the survey published in October reflected what "the Spaniards thought at that time." Specifically, as noted, 56% of the country's citizenship.

The president of the CIS has indicated that the last forecast of his body was made 40 days ago and that, in addition, many of the people surveyed had not yet decided their vote.

Hence, the results have changed in this period, in which, in his opinion, there have been "two effects": the decline in participation, with respect to the previous elections of April 28 and "events" such as the exhumation of Franco or the riots in Catalonia. "The thing about Catalonia has been very impressive," he said to point out that there are voters who have exercised their "scared" rights. "It has influenced the process," he insisted.

Asked about the resignation petition launched by the PP, Tezanos replies that "it is not a novelty" since the party led by Pablo Casado already claimed his departure "before he had reached the headquarters of the CIS." "It is part of the usual," he said.
