11 November 2019The Court of Assizes of Appeal of Alexandria sentenced two years and 8 months to Lara Bombonati, the Italian foreign fighter accused of association with the purpose of terrorism. The woman was found guilty of flanking Islamic terrorist associations while in Syria. The 28-year-old was in the classroom, eyeglasses, long loose dark hair wore black trousers, a brown jacket and a burgundy sweater.

Lara Bombonati had been arrested the night between 24 and 25 June 2017 in Tortona, in the house of the twin Valentina. Without a fixed abode, he lived between the town and the hamlet of San Vito di Garbagna, still on the Tortona hills, where there is the summer home of his maternal grandparents. He had embraced the Islamic faith and married Francesco Cascio, an Italian fighter who would die 'in battle', following him to Turkey and then Syria.
