After the recent wave of violent acts of violence, where a 15-year-old boy in Malmö was shot dead, the National Operations Department, Noa, has announced a so-called national special event. This means that the police can be given special powers to deal with the situation outside the ordinary police operations.
The special situation is only advertised in extraordinary situations, such as the terrorist attack on Drottninggatan 2017 and the big forest fires 2018.
