In March, Skistar submitted an application to the municipality to demolish the Kabinbanan valley station and Timmerstugan. In August, the municipality decided to say yes to the application. The cable car will not be replaced and no new lift on Åreskutan is planned.

Now several skiers and snowboarders have gone out with a common name gathering to stop the demolition.

"The four poles of the cable car are the backbone of Swedish skiing in general, and the Swedish free-riding wonder in particular," one writes.

The name collection was laid out on Sunday and had received around 3000 signatures on Monday.

In the video above you can see Simon Tjernström and Moa Wärvik about why they think the cabin track is so important.
