Seven of the tigers, now kept in a Poznan zoo, have been given vitamins and have started eating. But a zoo employee says the animals are still stressed and aggressive.

The tigers currently eat only half of their usual food ration. According to veterinarians, the amount of food must increase incrementally since the animals have been completely without food for several days.

Two other tigers are kept in another zoo and are in better condition.

It was at the end of October that ten tigers were found in a truck. They were then in very poor condition and one of the tigers died. The animals had been transported from Italy and were on their way to a zoo in the Russian sub-republic of Dagestan.

Two Italian truck drivers and a Russian man, believed to have organized the trip, are suspected of animal cruelty.
