Five people were arrested after the police's dawn attack on criminal networks in Malmö on Thursday. During Sunday, detention negotiations were held against four of the persons, the fifth being released on Thursday with suspicions remaining.

Three men had been arrested on suspicion of serious drug offenses.

- The district court made the assessment that there were probable grounds for serious drug crime for two of them. Third, the assessment was that it was about drug crimes of the normal degree, says prosecutor Magnus Pettersson.

Arrested for weapons offense

The fourth man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault.

One of the detainees is also suspected of incitement to gross public endangerment, but he is not wanted to be arrested for this.

- I made the judgment not to ask that person arrested for that criminal offense. But the suspicion is not written off, says Magnus Pettersson.

Leader in the underworld

One of the men, who is 25 years of age, is identified as one of the leaders in Malmö's criminal world and can be linked to several acts over the past year, according to police reports.

He has previously been convicted of public endangerment after an explosion against a real estate company's office in Rosengård in Malmö. He was also sentenced for threatening the prosecutors who led the preliminary investigation.
