While their comrade is currently between life and death, the student unions are demanding "solutions" to improve the living conditions of students. Friday afternoon, a 22-year-old student was seriously burned in Lyon after self-immolation in front of a university restaurant. In a message posted on social networks, he had mentioned financial difficulties. At the microphone of Europe 1, Luiz, Solidaires union, recalls that "a majority of students in France are in survival".

Presenting himself as "a comrade and therefore a friend" of the victim, the unionist explains the gesture of the young man by "a distress due to precariousness". This precariousness, he notes, "makes this student, as a majority of students in France, in survival and in extremely deplorable situations, both from the point of view of housing, food, or the financial aspect ".
"This question of financial precariousness, we must provide a solution, since it is she who led to its desperate act," he calls again. "That's what leads to a completely disastrous way of life for students in France."
