Leipzig, an impressive winner on Saturday in Hertha (4-2) has temporarily taken second place in the Bundesliga, waiting for the result of the clash between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the evening (18:30).

The RB have just scored 20 goals in four matches in all competitions, and return temporarily to a length of the leader Mönchengladbach, who receives Bremen Sunday.

Only Dortmund, if he wins in Munich (18:30) can exceed the team of Julian Nagelsmann. Bayern, he will return to the height of the "Red Bulls" in case of victory. But Leipzig, thanks to its 8-0 last week against Mainz, now has a goal difference of +17, far ahead of everyone.

In the Olympic stadium in Berlin, where the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Wall was celebrated, the young troop of Leipzig got off to a bad start, conceding a goal from Maximilian Mittelstadt in the 32nd minute.

But the machine started quickly. Timo Werner scored another double (38th on penalty, 90th + 1). Marcel Sabitzer gave the advantage to Leipzig just before the break, served by a heel inspired by Yussuf Poulsen (2-1, 45th + 1). And Kevin Kampl put the Hertha on the knees late in the game by playing too passive defense, to score from inside the box (3-1, 87th).

The late goal of Hertha by Davie Selke (90 + 2) is anecdotal.

Before the match, a replica of the Berlin Wall was deployed along the center line, marking the 30th anniversary of its fall. A tag "Together against the walls, together for Berlin" decorated the wall, while the two teams were warming each one on one side.

The German capital celebrates with great pomp on Saturday the anniversary of the fall of the Wall, erected by order of the communist regime of the GDR in 1961.

The other team from Berlin, the Union, also celebrated in its own way this historic day, winning 3-2 in Mainz: first away win in the Bundesliga this season, and even in its history, since the club of the former GDR is playing its first season among the elite since reunification.

Schalke, who received the poorly ranked Düsseldorf, missed the opportunity to snag third place, conceding a 3-3 draw, having led three times!

The fourth meeting of the afternoon saw the last Paderborn (4 points) losing 1-0 home against Augsburg.
