There have been several traffic accidents on the roads in Västmanland County due to heavy snowfall and slipping during Friday afternoon, the Swedish Transport Administration reports.

It started just before 16 at Bergslagsvägen in Surahammar where a passenger car went off the road and straight into a lamppost. The driver was taken by ambulance to the hospital, awake and talkative.

At 16 on Friday, SOS Alarm received an alarm about a traffic accident involving several vehicles on the E18 in Västerås at the Bäckby traffic stop.

Seven cars in kitchen robe

20 minutes later, another traffic accident alert came. Then a large kitchen robe with seven cars involved in the western direction of Vallbymotet. How the accidents went to and if there are any injured is not known at present, but the police are in place.

Anti-slip control is prioritized primarily on the European roads. Road users are therefore advised to choose as much as possible the European Roads E18 and E20 as far as possible.

Is it slippery outside?

- I do not know, but that it is dark and the rain falls and it does not make it easier to drive a car directly, says Daniel Wikdahl spokesperson at the police in Västerås.
