• Bolivia: The spiral of violence takes another life in Bolivia

A police riot has exploded this afternoon (night in Spain) in Cochabamba, the third city in Bolivia. Hundreds of agents from the Tactical Unit of Police Operations (UTOP) have become strong in their own barracks and have climbed to the roofs of the building, from where they fly the Bolivian flag, the same one that the opponents of President Evo have been waving for 19 days Morales.

"Long live democracy, long live the people!" Shouted one of the motorized agents who has also joined the uprising. Hundreds of people are concentrated around the police headquarters in support of the rebels, who remain quartered. One of its officers has told reporters that they are fed up after 14 years of government of the revolution. "Not only is the UTOP, we are all the police of Cochabamba. We are in repudiation of the government that ignores us in 14 years of government," one of the officers told the Red Uno station.

The police demand the cessation of the departmental commander, who would have given the order to lash out at the rebels in the streets. The government has reacted immediately, appointing Colonel Jaime Zurita, former National Transit Director, as the new departmental commander replacing Raúl Grandy. The brilliant government reaction has not placated, for now, the Levantis.

In the department of Cochabamba there have been the most serious altercations since the opposition denounced "electoral fraud" on October 20. This same week the young opponent Limbert Guzmán was killed when he was part of a blockade on a bridge. Three defendants, members of a group of clash of the Movement To Socialism (MAS), were released and another remains locked.

The official mayor Patricia Arce was also kidnapped by a mob and beaten and humiliated publicly, they even painted her whole body red in a spiral of violence that grows day by day in Bolivia.
