Mito City and Suita City, Osaka Prefecture will be transferred to the core city with the authority to establish a health center from April next year.

Mito City and Suita City, Osaka Prefecture requested the government to designate it as a core city where various administrative authorities were transferred from the prefecture.

And at the Cabinet meeting on the 8th, the government decided to newly designate the two cities as core cities and move to April 1 next year.

The core city is a government-designated principle, a municipality with a population of 200,000 or more, and it is possible to establish public health centers and special nursing homes.

With the addition of two cities, the core city will be 60 nationwide.
