A new diagnostic device, resembling a vending machine for the sale of food and drinks, can determine diabetes and cholesterol status in three minutes.

In order to get the service, you need to pay about 200 rubles and "blow into the tube."

“The air exhaled into it enters a chamber with a glowing electric discharge, which reacts to the mixture and allows you to determine its composition using a mass spectrometer. At the same time, the device receives information about dozens of gases, which allows us to draw conclusions about the presence of health problems, ”said Maxim Dudenidov, head of the Health Monitor project.

Thus, a concentration of acetone of more than 1.2 propromille allows you to suspect the presence of diabetes, and excess isoprene indicates a high level of cholesterol, which can lead to cardiovascular diseases.

Nevertheless, according to experts, the accuracy of such an examination will not be 100%, but it may be an occasion to consult a doctor.

Developers in the future plan to expand the list of diagnosed diseases and include in the device the function of determining the signs of infection with Helicobacter pylori bacteria, which cause gastritis and gastric ulcer.

Earlier, the Moscow 24 website reported that since the beginning of 2019, doctors at the Puchkov Emergency and Emergency Medical Station have made more than 500 thousand remote electrocardiograms.
