The team speed trio, made up of Quentin Caleyron, Sébastien Vigier and Melvin Landerneau, twice beat the French record of the 750m dating from the 2012 Olympic Games, Friday, in Glasgow (Scotland), during the second round of world Cup.

The three French men had their best performance, in 42 sec 813, in the match for the third place they won against the Beat CC team (van den Berg, Bos, Buchli). A better place in the final standings than in Minsk last week in the opening round of the World Cup.

At the London Olympics, where they won the silver medal, Grégory Baugé, Kevin Sireau and Michael d'Almeida were credited with a time of 42 sec 991.

In Glasgow, Caleyron, at the starting position, was timed in 17 sec 77. Vigier, author of a second round gun (12 sec 29), and Landerneau, outstanding finisher (12 sec 74), reversed the situation for sign this promising time.

In the first round, the French had already broken the record of France, in 42 sec 922, without however this time opens to them the doors of the final (Netherlands against Great Britain).

The best time of the competitions was achieved in the final by the Netherlands team (van Thoenderdaal, Lavreysen, Hoogland) in 42 sec 163. With, again, a second shattering second round (12 sec 21) by Harrie Lavreysen, the individual world speed champion already highlighted in Minsk.

For their part, the pursuers confirmed their performance last week (second, in 3 min 51 sec 777). This time, Benjamin Thomas, Thomas Denis, Corentin Ermenault and Valentin Tabellion took third place in the tournament, in 3:52:43, behind Denmark and Italy.
