Intensive investigative work yielded a dividend on Wednesday evening when a man in his 30s could be arrested for involvement in murder attempts after a man aged 45 was severely injured at a pizzeria in central Gävle.

"The 30-year-old is a resident of Gävle and should be familiar with the 45-year-old," said Joakim Johansson, prosecutor.

The 30-year-old is also suspected of theft.

- In connection with the murder trial, he should have taken things from the plaintiff, says Joakim Johansson.

There may be more perpetrators

Despite the arrest, the investigation continues and Joakim Johansson states that the police do not rule out that there may be more suspected perpetrators.

- I can't go into if any other person is suspected but we continue to investigate if there may be more people who are interesting.

Requested arrest

The 30-year-old was arrested for probable cause on Friday and the hearing will be held in the afternoon.

According to Joakim Johansson, the 45-year-old, who is then cared for after the murder trial on Tuesday night, should feel good under the circumstances.
