The Strategic Affairs Council of the Executive Council of Dubai discussed food safety in the emirate, which was reviewed by Dubai Municipality during the meeting held yesterday at the Council headquarters in Emirates Towers, chaired by HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Vice President The Executive Council was attended by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council and members of the Board.

The Dubai Municipality prepared a study on food safety in the emirate, with the aim of developing a comprehensive assessment and recommendations to strengthen the food safety system in the emirate. The study aims at identifying the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats in order to establish an integrated system based on the best scientific methods and global practices. And local experiences.

The importance of the study is based on the impact of direct food on the health of the community, and ensure the implementation of an integrated food safety control system, taking into account the specificity of the Emirate of Dubai as a global trade center.

The study focused on imported and handled food, drinking water and food contact materials, foodborne disease screening, halal food, applied nutrition, laboratory capacity, and food safety and nutrition awareness. Human resources, technical systems, procedures, best practices, leadership and foresight, duplication, strategies and risk assessment, and strategic partners.

The meeting comes within the framework of the role of the Council of Strategic Affairs in supporting the efforts of the Executive Council, by proposing plans and strategies that contribute to the implementation and embodiment of the vision of leadership, aimed at achieving excellence in all sectors, and devise solutions and initiatives to develop services, in order to achieve the objectives that establish the leading position of the Emirate , And bring happiness and well-being to society.
