"Inadmissible", "opportunistic": usually benevolent when the Belgian clubs defy the tenors of the C1, the Flemish press nailed Mbaye Diagne to the pillory after his penalty missed Wednesday in Paris, which should have been shot by the captain of Bruges Hans Vanaken, appointed by the coach.

Destabilized by Paris defender Thiago Silva in the big rectangle, while Paris led 1-0, Diagne wanted to do justice himself in the 76th minute. But his low shot was easily captured by Keylor Navas, and the score remained the same until the end of the match.

"Inadmissible, disgusting, selfish and egocentric", indignantly the daily Het Nieuwsblad, for whom the attacker must be sent "several months in tribune".

"An opportunistic Diagne gives a bitter aftertaste to the beautiful evening of Bruges," writes Flemish television on its website.

"He ruined everything, what an egotist," said Marc Degryse, the former Bruges player, in Het Laatste Nieuws.

"Vanaken was the designated shooter - right, because he rarely misses," still condemns the former Red Devil.

Faced with this torrent of criticism, Mbaye Diagne apologized on Instagram.

"I made a big mistake, I want to apologize first to the coach, the captain, all the other team members and of course the fans," said the Senegalese.

After losing to Parc des Princes, Bruges is third in group A with 2 points.
