07 November 20194.47 An ambush at a bus convoy carrying employees of the five Canadian mining company Semafo in Burkina Faso (in the east of the country, 40 kilometers from the Boungou mine) caused 37 deaths and 60 wounded. This was reported in a note by the governor of the region, Colonel Saidou Sanou. The mining company Semafo had initially spoken of "numerous deaths and injuries". The attack was perpetrated by "unidentified armed individuals", according to the governor.
