The system is called Electronic Attack Jammer Pod (EAJP) and now the first test flights have been carried out.

"We conducted the flight tests with a Gripen plane and the new crash cap is an important part of the development of our new capability in electronic attack," Anders Carp, head of Saab's business area Surveillance, said in a statement.

The purpose of the canister is to prevent the aircraft from being detected by radar and to send out signals that interfere with the attacker's system.
